Gloria asked:

This will be me and my boyfriends five year anniversary! Over the years, I have made him very creative anniversary presents and I want to keep that tradition going! So, do you have any ideas of a creative anniversary present that I could make him that we could look at years from now! Thanks in advance!

I really think you should make a painting for him, because this would be something you can hang on the wall and both enjoy.

You could make a watercolor painting of a favorite view, such as a place where you like to hike, or picnic. Or you could make a picture of your garden as you see it this year.

You could also make an acrylic painting, by purchasing a small canvas board and a set of basic paints. A good trick is also to buy the frame first, form a thrift store or an inexpensive place, and make the painting to fit the frame.

Even if you have never painted, you can do a very simple composition, and just do your best. he will love it, and it may lead to more painting for you.

If this idea scares you, other ways to approach a wall piece, would be to make a photo collage, in the frame; or you could make a collage of beads and objects, glued on with a glue gun.

If you keep the piece small, you can hang it in your kitchen and you will both see it every day.

    Make your own card too!

Congratulations on five years, that is an achievement in itself!

You could make a mini scrapbook for him out of card stock and stamps or stickers.

Split Coast Stampers has a lot of ideas and tutorials that show how to make them.

A couple of places to look are Resources (top right side of the web page). Here you will find a lot of tutorials on how to do a particular project or technique. Ignore the technique ones and look for the specific projects.

The other place on the web site to look would be the Gallery(top right side of the web page). Click on it and look for where it says Anything but a card. Click on that. The 5th item down is books, handmade journals, and albums. Click on that and a list of projects will appear with a small photo. You usually have the choice of clicking on the tutorial or to look in the gallery to see samples of those projects.

You could give the album or mini scrapbook you make as a gift full of photos of the time you’ve spent together. Rubber stamp stores and some craft stores have open card stock that can be purchased by the sheet. You’ll want to use card stock for the basis of the project not decorative paper that may or may not be double sided. That type of paper tends to be lighter in weight and thickness and would not be able to with stand the handling such an item would receive.

In either section you may find some other ideas for making another kind of gift.

    Have fun with the project!!

A coupon book. Make up coupons that he can turn in for various favors. Like a back rub or strip tease or favorite dessert. Whatever crazy stuff you can come up with.
